Frequently asked questions

Glass or plastic bottles in all their variants: from vials and bottles for oral solids to syrup bottles and eye drop containers.

The machines label cylindrical, oval or special-shaped containers, and adapt to different sizes and materials.

Yes. On an AUTOLINE Pharma linear labelling machine, the container rotates on its own axis thanks to a drive roller and two pneumatically actuated support rollers. This allows the front label and back label to be applied in a single pass and with great accuracy.

Application can be done with a single head, using a reel that carries both labels, or with two independent labelling stations. In both cases, synchronisation ensures they are aligned and centred. Depending on the machine model, they can also be applied on the fly, without rotating the container.

A full bottle weighs more and has more inertia: it needs firm guiding and limits acceleration. An empty one is light but tips over easily. That is why the point on the line where the labelling machine is placed determines how the conveyor is designed.

It is a decision best taken at the layout stage, not once the machine has already been built.

Labels off-centre in height, poorly closed overlaps and wrinkles from applying onto a surface that was not perpendicular. They are detected by presence and position inspection, and the unit leaves the line before reaching secondary packaging.
