It can be done on a linear or a rotary machine. On the Etima CANFLEX linear labelling machine, the can rotates by means of a system of synchronised guides and belts while the label is applied with hot melt glue. On the Auxiemba ETIFLEX rotary machine, application is also with hot melt glue.
Both solutions are designed to work at high speed, with accurate, uniform labelling all around the can.
No. Seamed rims create abrupt changes in the surface that prevent the label from adhering properly. For this reason, the label must be applied to a smooth, continuous area of the container to ensure a good finish and avoid peeling or wrinkles.
Metal containers use specific adhesives that ensure the label is properly fixed to the surface of the container. The choice of adhesive will depend on factors such as the metal finish, storage conditions, the presence of moisture or the subsequent processes the product has to withstand.
