Frequently asked questions
It is a folded, multi-page label that is applied to the container and unfolded to be read. It is used when the mandatory information (leaflet, several languages or dosage) simply does not fit on the surface of the bottle.
A booklet is thicker and stiffer, so it behaves differently when unwinding, when peeling off the liner and when conforming to a curved surface. The critical point is the closure area: if it is not properly sealed, the booklet opens. The position of the booklet’s fold relative to the label’s exit direction is also very important.
For the machine, the practical consequence is that the unwinder and the dispensing edge must be sized for a much greater thickness than usual, and this must be verified with the real reel.
It is the element that allows the leaflet or associated document to be attached to the container. Its presence means the label has to be placed where it interferes neither with opening nor with the subsequent unfolding of the document. It usually goes on the side of the container or on its top.
The presence and position of the label are verified in-line. The closure of the booklet is guaranteed by the setting of the application, not by inspection.
